Discover Shanghai!

Walking tours for everyone?
The walks are easy, go on normal paved footpaths and are suitable for young and old. Shanghai is flat, the streets may be a little slippery when it rains. Easy (walking) shoes or good sandals are a plus, especially in the hot and humid weather. Anyone can join the tours, including your kids; there is much to see and experience!

Note: the footpaths in Shanghai tend to be crowded (and not only with pedestrians but also with bicycles and scooters). Always be careful! In such a huge city it is not always possible to escape from the crowds. Driving habits of car and motorbike riders are 'different' and you should not take for granted that you are given way at zebra crossings and traffic lights (even if you are supposed to!). During our walk, I will tell you more about it.

Food and drinks

The walks start at 09.30 or 10.00 a.m. We will stop somewhere for having lunch in a traditional Chinese restaurant or tea/coffee break. There is plenty of choice and everything is possible (also Western food if desired). The cost of food and drinks are not included in the tour.

Sometimes it is wise to take drinks with you (especially with hot weather) but in this mega city you can find drinks and / or food for sale on every street corner. We can always stop if you want to buy something.

Meeting point
The walks start in the center of Shanghai (except for the Qibao tour). After receipt of your application you will receive the exact location data in both Chinese and English language. The meeting points are easily accessible by subway or taxi. At the end of the tour I can guide you to the nearest metro line stop (if desired).
